The  "Write  About Love" LP from Belle And Sebastian was last weeks new release sales winner. Sadly the label and distributors are out of it and it'll be about two weeks before they'll have it again. Doesn't that have something to say about Matador's support ?
Here's what's shakin' for October 19th. There's a reissue of Ornette Coleman's "The Shape Of Jazz To Come", a Dag Nasty LP titled "Dag With Shawn", "The Witmark Demos 1962-1964" which is volume 9 in the bootleg series, a new double LP collaborative from Elton John and Leon Russell called "The Union", "Tears, Lies And Alibis" from Shelby Lynne, the new Kings Of Leon called "Come Around Sundown", a self titled LP by Mt. Desolation, "The Incredible Machine" by Sugarland and, lastly, "Dark Days Coming" from Three.
The bad news this week is for Jayhawks fans. It looks like the reissues "Hollywood Town Hall" and "Tomorrow The Green Grass" that were scheduled for release have been cancelled. Hopefully this is only temporarily. We'll see and we'll see you next week.

As usual there is a very short lists of releases this Tuesday the 7th and a huge one due the 14th. Labor Day falls on Monday and, as usual, labels are reluctant to release titles on a holiday week for fear they'll get ignored.
Braving release are the following titles. With the release of the self titled LP by Interpol and a limited edition double 12", this week Matador will be reissuing "Antics" and  "Turn On The Bright Lights". The Bad Plus LP "Never Stop", "Kaleidoscope Heart" by Sara Bareilles, Deerhunter's "Revival" and "Personal Life" from The Thermals make up what will be available.
Look for the long awaited vinyl release of the "Plastic Beach" LP from Gorillaz to hit the stores on the following week along with a Vaseline's LP and... oh wait ...that's for the !4th. Until then.

Here are the new releases scheduled for this Tuesday the 3rd of August. "The Suburbs"  a double from Arcade Fire, David Dondereo's ""# Zero With A Bullet", a self titled LP from El Ten Eleven, "Weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamixxx3" by EL-P, the Gravehill LP "Rites Of The Pentagram / Metal Of Death" that was due earlier, "JJ No 2" by JJ, Lady Gaga's "The Remix", "Consentual Selections" from Mad Caddies, a regular double edition and a deluxe (180 gram / 4 LP /  45 RPM) version of Metallica's "Reload", "Where The Messengers Meet" by Mt.    To those of us who stocked and enjoyed the releases by Classic Records it was a sad day when they called it quits and turned their remaining inventory over to Acoustic Sounds for distribution. They will be painfully missed as they were a one of a kind label bringing inspiration through a very dim era in new  vinyl collecting. It looks like MoFi is the game in town. Thankfully they will be there to help fill the void.  Don't you guys go anywhere. Now on to the releases for next week.

Due to the Memorial Day weekend there is slim pickings for next Tuesdays releases but here goes. A double from Jeff Beck titled "Performing This Week...Live At Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club", the new Jack Johnson on Universal called "To The Sea", "Tough" a two record set  from John Mayall, the vinyl reissue of "Unplugged In New York" by Nirvana, "Live From Texas" the new double ZZ Top LP, a six , yes six LP anthology from Lamb Of God called "Hourglass" and an EP by Trap Them titled "Filth Rations".

Ah, Record Store Day. Thanks to all the people who stop by to say Hi and picked up some of the titles. The two most requested titles were The Hold Steady and the Beastie Boys. The Flaming Lips was a close third. The Springsteen 10" was also more popular than I would have thought. The weekend turned out to be a huge success.  Many people came in Sunday to see what was still around for sale. The Beatles single of "Paperback Writer / Rain" didn't make it for RSD but look for that to be released on May 18th. It comes complete with the original UK picture sleeve.

"Fever" a double from Bullet For My Valentine,a reissue of "Billion Dollar Babies" by Alice Cooper, Gogol Bordello's "Trans-Continental Hustle", "All This Time" by Heartless Bastards, a reissue of The Mahavishnu Orchestra LP "Birds Of Fire" on 180 gram , "Live In New York City" by Mono,  another in the DJ Kicks series this time it's Juan MacLean, "Save Yourself" by Make Up, the Jesse Malin and the St. Marks Social LP "Love It To Life", "Deep Tissue" from People Up North and lastly "Palomino" on 180 gram from Trampled by Turtles.
